The term "Spring Break" has been out of my system for sometimes now, but I'm glad that it finds its way back as taking a break if truly enjoyable.
Las Vegas
Yes, Las Vegas again!!! Because one of the old "free" package is expiring, that's why we need to claim it before it goes into waste. Hay, who would pass out a "free" 3 nights 4 days LV package.
Day 1
Brunch/Dinner buffet @ Bellagio
Steam Crab Leg | Kobe Top Sirlon (Left), Prime Rib (Right) |
White Chocolate Nutella Cone (left), Chocolate Raspberry Cone (right) |
The food this time were better than what I had in December. We asked them to steam the crab leg this time, but it lost some of the taste after being in the boil water again. The kobe beef tasted better this time. It's even better than the prime rib.
Then brought the "newbies" to City Center via Bellagio/City Center Tram. Reminds me of the tram ride in HKG airport. You can compare the 3 months difference of City Center here.
Day 2
Brought the newbies to lunch at Chang's Hong Kong Cuisine. Then we dropped by the outlet for some quick shopping and it's where my mom opened her wallet for Coach outlet for the first time (because of the 30% off). The rest of the afternoon was trapped in a "presentation" on "vacation package". It's one of the "most go" event when they gave you the free hotel deals. Once we got out of the "presentation", we headed to Korean town and tried Dae Jang Keum Korean BBQ & Tofu Restaurant. We ordered beef tongue and pork neck, two items that we hardly see in the menu in the bay. We also ordered a seafood pancake, but it turned out it should be called seafood pizza instead. hehehe
Day 3
A "relax" day where we just went casino hopping. Lunch at Oyster Bay Seafood & Wine Bar at Planet Hollywood.
Dinner was the best hightlight of the whole trip, IMO. StripSteak at Mandalay Bay is one of the best steak house I have been to so far. We used 2 $50 GC, which only cost $8, and able to have one of the best dinner in town.
The Kobe Rib Cap and Rib Eye are must try items.
After dinner, we went to catch the show on the stripe at Mirage and T.I. That's where I finally got a chance to take a picture of Mr. Kwok from Wynn since he greeted me numerous times everyday whenever I passed by Wynn.
Grand Canyon Skywalk
My parents always wanted to go to the Skywalk, so we planned this stop just for them. Seriously, this is not a "friendly tourist" place. They charged you an arm and leg for entrance fee. The only positive point is you can have "free" lunch at the canyon as your backdrop.
Grand Canyon South
We didn't get to see the Grand Canyon in details last year. So we have decided to go to Grand Canyon South again. We stayed at Williams the night before and I was amazed that we still have snow in the area. It made you felt like you are in another "dimension".
The Canyon itself is beautiful. It was so different to see it was filled with snow. It brings out the Winter and Spring look of the canyon.
