Summer already?

New daylight saving schedule started 3 weeks ealier and the temperature for the first day is 7x C during the day. Someone must have went to a fortune teller or something, else it won't be such a perfect timing for such a "nice hot" weather on the first day of spring/summer time.

The weather forcast on my google hompy shows that it will remain 7x for the rest of the week.

Seoul of the Valley

(Sorry for another K-wind related entry ... I guess my "hallyu" hype has not yet die down ... but sure is "growing" in a slow rate lately though ...)

I was browsing through the forum last night (waiting for updates on the fanfics I have been addicted to) and found a very interesting topic: Ktown in Bay Area . It all started with some Korean business owners along El Camino Real in Santa Clara who want the city to help establish a Korean business district similar to those in Los Angeles and Garden Grove back in Summer 2006 (article). Come to think about it, it makes sense though. We have Ctown and Jtown in San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose. Why can't we also have a Ktown though . Why do only LA and NY has it's own Ktown?

Sadly to find that Ktown has been rejected by the city council this year through this article. But it has lighten me up by introducing Korean restaurants in the area . As you know, food is the ingredient that brought people together in Asia culture and this is the first step to attract "tourists" to "Ktown" . After some extensive research on the restaurants in the area, I have come up with a list of places that I would love to try:

  • Dumpling & Noddles (Map Review): Korean style dumpling and noddles ... never tired them before .. could be a great experience

  • Corner Place (Map Review): naeng myeon (iced buckwheat noodles) and sam gye tang (ginseng chicken soup) ... hmm .. maybe I should try the authenic ginseng chicken soup in Korea first .. hehhe ..

  • Sui Tofu (Map Review): homemade tofu, 4 different types of naeng myeon and gruel (rice congee) ... never tried Korean style congee before ...

  • Si-gol-jip (Map Review): Kal Bi Naeng Myun (Korean barbecued short ribs with chilled buckwheat noodles) and Heok Yum So Bok Kum (black goat and vegetables in hot sauce) ...sounds so good ...

  • 99 Chicken (Map Review): Korean style fried chicken (drumsticks and wings only) ... it used to be bar food (snack with soju or beer) .. even NY times has an article on KFC ( Korean Fried Chicken) (here) .. I'm sure it must be one of the "trendy" food that one must try ....
